Itinerary and highlights:
• We start at Plaza de Chueca, with an explanation of its history as a diverse neighborhood and driving force of social change.
• We wander through Augusto Figueroa, with its designer shops and avant-garde gastronomic spaces.
• A stop in front of the San Antón Market (optional interior tour), where the transformation from traditional to gourmet commerce is discussed.
• We walk to Malasaña, crossing Fuencarral, seeing alternative shops and spontaneous urban art.
• Stops at: o Plaza del Dos de Mayo (epicenter of the Movida), o Corredera Alta de San Pablo (retro shops and cafes), o Calle del Espíritu Santo (key spot for the young and creative scene).
• Historical anecdotes, social changes, and film and music references are discussed.
